Wassell Academy FAQ's

Age

• We take children into our pre-school preferably at 4 years of age.
• We will take a three year old sibling providing they are potty trained.

Child Care

• Child care is available Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for children attending our program.
• WE DO NOT ACCEPT CHILDREN ATTENDING OTHER SCHOOLS. WE DO NOT PROVIDE BUSSING!

Curriculum:

• For kindergarten and above we use the A Beka curriculum, but not exclusively.
• We are non-denominational Christian based.
• We are not affiliated with a specific church.
• We use a variety of methods to teach reading including phonics and sight words.

Lunches:

• Parents are to provide lunch for their child.
• We have a microwave to heat up and refrigerator for cold storage if needed.
• Lunches should not require longer than FOUR minutes to heat up.
• We provide snacks for pre-school, kindergarten, and after school with juice.

Testing:

• After enrollment, a testing date is scheduled for kindergarten and above.
• This is a placement test, not an entrance test.
• Children will be denied entry after testing only on the basis of behavior or if they are found to have a major special need we cannot accommodate.

Uniforms:

• Kindergarten and above are required to wear Campus Club uniforms.
